AFF (Accelerated Free Fall)

AFF as the name suggests is a rapid progression system to the world of skydiving. In just 8 jumps you can learn the basic skills you need to become a fully qualified skydiver! As with the RAPS course you begin with a full day of training which covers many of the same topics as the RAPS training but with an increased focus on the freefall body position. This is because your next training will be at approximately 12,000ft! You will exit the aircraft with two instructors who will both guide you throughout the jump so you can quickly learn the freefall skills you need as you progress.
A qualified skydiver is someone who, in short, has proven to their instructors they can demonstrate the basic skydiving maneuvers they have been shown and are capable of making a safe skydive by themselves. Many people say that there is no better way to learn something than to actually do it, and that's what AFF is all about. Learning from the hand signals you are given you can make adjustments to your body position and be flying through the air with control and comfort in no time. After each freefall of around 45 seconds you will deploy your own parachute and make use of your canopy control training to make a safe on target landing.
At each level with the AFF program you will learn new skills such as turns, back flips and tracking. When you have proven to the instructors that you have mastered these skills you are then ready to qualify as a fully fledged skydiver! During your time on the course you will quickly see that there is much more to skydiving than you might have thought with many different disciplines to be mastered like formation skydiving, freeflying, skysurfing, wingsuits, canopy formation, aerial photography and the list goes on.
